The versatile A400 Extreme Plus shoots 2.75", 3", and 3.5" shells interchangeably, without having to make adjustments. To hold up to long days of pounding waterfowl loads, the A400 Xtreme Plus features advanced recoil reduction systems, such as Kick-Off Mega, Kick-Off3, and Soft-Comb stock, which reduce felt recoil by as much as 70%. The barrel is made of Steelium Plus steel with an extended forcing cone for obtaining consistently tight and uniform shot patterns. The 7x7 stepped rib has a wider plane, and an integral steel mid-bead and a fiber optic front bead. The charging handle and bolt release are oversized to facilitate operation with cold, gloved hands; and an expanded and beveled loading port reduces thumb bite, and also facilitates operation with gloved hands. The receiver is drilled and tapped to attach a Picatinny rail (rail not included). The A400 action features a rotating bolt, and a self-cleaning piston to ensure the shotgun operates in all conditions and is low in maintenance. Under field conditions, the A400 easily disassembles with no tools in a matter of seconds. The cross-bolt safety is positioned at the front of the trigger guard, where the hunter can find it instantaneously, and is reversible for right- and left-hand shooters. The Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus Semi-Auto Shotgun comes with 5 Black Edition 20mm extended choke tubes and a hard polymer case.
