Tekota's legacy of durability and performance continues with the fully redesigned Tekota A lineup of reels. Shimano engineers overhauled the legendary Tekota to enhance the overall performance and durability of these battle-tested reels with improved gear strength and faster line retrieval. The Tekota A lineup now features CoreProtect for increased corrosion protection and a Cross Carbon Drag for increased stopping power when targeting hard-fighting fish. Built upon a HAGANE Body for increased durability and reeling performance, Tekota A models feature a loud clicker and ergonomic S-Compact Body design for enhanced in-hand comfort. For 2022, Shimano adds to the previously redesigned 500 and 600-size Tekota A reels with an all-new 800 size for increased line capacity and stopping power.

  • CoreProtect
    • Total Protection, the concept of CoreProtect is simple: to provide water resistance without creating a heavy rotational feeling. There are three key areas of the reel that require protection: the roller clutch, the body, and the line roller.
  • Cross Carbon Drag
    • The Cross Carbon Drag material provides a wider range of drag settings compared to traditional drag materials. The Cross Carbon Drag provides the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever while providing anglers with increased durability
  • Hagane Body
    • The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing on the reel while fighting fish. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power, increasing efficiency through strength
  • S-Compact Body
    • S-Compact Body allows for all-day comfort and improved fishability by making the palming side plate up to 25% smaller than the A-Side plate
  • S A-RB
    • S A-RB bearings are put through the same process as Shimano's A-RB bearings but feature shields on both sides of the bearings. These shields reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting rotation of the bearing
